Meet Our President

Dontavier Murphy is the Founder and President of ICARE Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening individuals, families, and neighborhoods throughout DeKalb County, Georgia. A visionary community leader, nonprofit executive, and pastor, Dontavier has dedicated his life to creating opportunities that empower people to thrive through service, collaboration, education, and compassionate outreach.

Driven by a deep love for DeKalb County, Dontavier established ICARE with the belief that every community deserves safe neighborhoods, stable housing, meaningful mentorship, access to essential resources, and leaders who are willing to serve. Under his leadership, ICARE focuses on initiatives including youth mentoring, volunteer engagement, neighborhood revitalization, food assistance, housing support, educational enrichment, senior outreach, workforce development, and strategic partnerships with faith-based organizations, businesses, and civic leaders.

Dontavier is also the Senior Pastor of Zion Temple Evangelistic Church, where he has become known for inspiring leadership, community advocacy, and a heart for serving people beyond the walls of the church. His commitment to servant leadership has earned him the respect of residents, volunteers, community organizations, and local leaders who share his vision for a stronger and more united DeKalb County.

Professionally, Dontavier brings extensive experience in leadership, organizational management, customer service excellence, and operational administration. His ability to build effective systems, lead diverse teams, and cultivate strategic partnerships has enabled both nonprofit and ministry initiatives under his leadership to grow with purpose and sustainability.

Throughout his career, Dontavier has championed volunteerism as a catalyst for community transformation. He believes lasting change begins when ordinary people unite around extraordinary compassion. Through ICARE, he continues to mobilize volunteers, develop future leaders, and create programs that produce measurable and lasting impact for the citizens of DeKalb County.
